Blog Video Review: In-Class

Name a couple useful - and not so useful - strategies for tutoring that appeared in the videos we watched this week.

In the videos we watch in class today I seen useful and not so useful strategies. Tutor kept calm as the tutee was getting upset. She calmly told the tutee that she needed to site the sources. The  tutee then got upset and asked if she needed to change her paper and tutor told her no. Yes keeping calm and repeating what the problem was about the paper was good strategies. But telling the tutee she didn't need to change the paper was not so useful. The tutor should have told her that they can work on the paper and switch things around and cite the sources. Instead the tutee got up and walked away. As for the tutee she should have remain calm and not compare college to high school. Every system of the board of ed is very different. She have asked the tutor what as some of the things that can help her better her paper instead of walking away and giving up.
