The issue I found with the paper was that the paragraphs were not organized over all it was very good. The issue with the paper was identify because she had just one big paragraph. What strategies did you utilize or recommend? The strategies I used were organizing paragraph, pulling out information from the students. What led you to believe the session was effective? What would you do differently next time?

My first tutoring session went very well.  I found it hard to find anything wrong with my tutee paper. After the second time I read over the paper  ask questions such as " how do you feel about the paper?" what are some of your strengths in this paper?" and "what are some of your weakness?" she began to tell me that she think she did all right on the paper. Then she ask me what I thought about a part she thought was weird. In her paper she spoke about the abuse that people go through during hard worked labor jobs. Then towards the end of the paper she jumps into a technology part. The tutee explained to me that the technology part was not in it's rightful place. I then told her that she can put it towards the end of her paper so that way she does not go back and forth on a topic. Told her finish one topic then  go on to an other topic. I told her she should put more of her opinion in her paper. as well as getting more background information about what children did for hard labor. she seemed to agree and understand everything I was telling her. I also showed her how to create paragraphs and her run on sentences short. We also focus on word choice as well. I must say that at first i was nervous but then it just went away. I would like to say that the student I tutor was happy with what I helped her with.
In the beginning of the tutoring session I'm going to introduce my self and greet the students with a well welcoming. Also I have to make sure my body language is strong and not my face. My face expressions tend to throw people off a lot. I m going  ask the student what is their paper about. So that they can give me a summary in their own words. I'm then going to focus on high order concerns such as thesis statements, organize paragraphs, and  word choice. I will ask questions to get ideas out of the student for their paper. If they don't know what to write I will have them focus free writing on their topic. Or even have the student mapping out their ideas for the paper. And last just try to smile and enjoy the session.

In my forth observation of tutoring the tutor body language was great.  Her tone in her voice was strong as well. She seemed very interested in the both the tutee's subjects. One student explains that she doesn't have anything. Tutor asked her to brainstorm and jot down some ideas. As student A is working on that she follows up with the student B. She asked questions such as what was the tutee working on. That student wanted to know what was a summary, and how do you summarize something. Tutor explains all the points on a summary. Student B then explains that he came to the tutoring to prepare for a test he was going to have later on in the day. Then showed the tutor a paper so that she may explained the points of a good paper. Tutor focus on high concerns such as organizing paragraphs, connecting paragraphs, quoting from the text the text and siting it, also telling he tutor to give more details about their ideas. Tutor also asked the tutee questions to get the ideas out of him. Tutor checks on student A and the student tells her that what she is doing isn't a paper just asking questions on a subject. Tutee is able to answer the questions by searching them up and tutor giving background information about the subject. The timing between both students worked very well.

In my third observation of tutoring the tutor body language was strong. She seem to take interest in the students work. Student just wanted to make sure her paper was well written.Tutor tells one of the tutee to reread her essay while she looks over the other student essay. But at that moment the tutor does a late response. She spent to much time on one student.Tutor gives feed back on the paper first student paper. Good feed back and allows the student to feel like she did good. The tutor also asked question after reading the paper. After that tutor reviews the structure of each paragraph. I then realize that she focus on high order concerns. The student then asked if the tutor may correct her grammar. Tutor explains that she is not allow to focus on grammar. She also explains to the student that tutors are trying to make tutees become better writes by focusing on the high concerns.

While she is spending time with this student the other  student is on her phone. Due to the fact that the tutor was spending more time with the other student. The tutor then realize she was taking up to much time with this one student and tells the other she hasn't forgot about her.  The tutor Then takes care of the other tutee. She also focus on high order concerns such as thesis standby, word choice, focus on fragments.  Gives student background knowledge. And reminds the student that she must stay on topic through out the paper. She always explains that she can use a strangely such as brainstorming to help her.  I notice the student wanted her to write something down on the paper and the tutor told her she is not allowed to mark anyone's paper. Body language is very strong so was tone in her voice. But again the late respond to the other student cause her to leave. She claimed that she had a class.

My second  observation did not go to well. I seen a lot of things the tutor was doing wrong. She focus more on low order concerns. Such as correcting errors also taking usurping owership. when the tutee would try to give his idea she would by pass it and tell him no we should put this. She did not seem interested in his work. After  she focus on low order concerns she then focus on the high order concerns. The tutor told the student that the some of the paragraphs needed to be longer. Her tone and body language was very strong. And the student just seemed to be scared to give his opinion or even an idea to her. I would have felt the same if that was my session. Out through the session I felt that she was just trying to rush through it and get it over with. She did not take up the whole hour at all. When observing I thought that she was just doing the paper for him.
